A very popular longline bra, the Dominique Torsolette has a very sexy design with ultra sheer lace.  Like the Lilyette, it is a great option for formal wear and wedding gowns.  The firm mesh wings and floral design give it more traditional yet sexy longline bra look.  It tends to fit nicely because of the dual row eye-back closures in the rear (you likely will need help putting it on).  It is a very well made bra but is definitely more pricey than the Lilyette.

This is one of the best, and certainly most popular, longline posture bras available today.  Women find it very comfortable, but it does have a very conservative design.  We consider it more of a functional bra.  The posture bra criss-cross design has extra reinforcement on the Exquisite Form, while camisole cushioned straps provide superior comfort.  Overall, a great choice for those of you looking for a longline style posture bra.

One of the most popular strapless longline bras today, especially for bridal and other formal dresses.  Women love the comfort and fit, as well as the price value.  The only complaint we have seen is that because it is a low plunge design, it may not provide as much support as other longlines, depending on your body type.  Overall, a great value and very popular.

It is primarily a strapless bra but straps are included to be used optionally. The fabric is very thin and comfortable, using Tactel cotton and polyester blends with spandex. Because of the light fabric and fit, we give this bra very high ratings for formal wear, especially wedding dresses. While there are many different types of longline bras, most of them fall under one of  four specific bra categories:  Strapless, Plus Size, Posture Support, and General Strapped.  Of these four types, strapless and plus size longline bras are the most popular specialty styles.  Let’s look at each of these a little more closely.

Strapless Longline Bras

The strapless longline bra is the most common specialty style because it fills a unique and desirable need – a bra that can be worn with strapless dresses, gowns, or other similar evening wear.  Naturally, they are very popular for women to wear with wedding dresses as well.

As the name implies, this bra has no straps over the shoulders to hold the bra in place – rather, the fit and fabric are design to hold the bra up from the torso.  This is typically done with stretch bands or underwires.  We do notice that many manufacturers also include optional straps for those occasions where straps would be acceptable and you want even more support.

Plus Sized Longline Bras

Plus sized bras are basically the same longline bras made for larger women.  However, because of the longline design, plus size longline bras are also more accommodating in the torso section and may have more padded support in the shoulder straps.  The longline style is popular for larger women because the bra inherently has extra support built-in for the back and shoulders.

Posture Support Longline Bras

A posture support longline bra has several design differences that help provide extra support in the upper back and shoulders.  Most posture bras have a criss-cross stretch band design in the back to help pull your shoulder blades in and encourage better posture.  The longline version often has extra support panels to provide extra support along the torso.  Because of this, these bras are more functional and may not always be as flattering as some of the other longline bras.  However, these bras can be very comfortable for long daily use, especially for those women who tend to sit for long periods of time.

General Longline Bras

All other longline bras are of the generic variety.  They are usually strapped with rear closures but front closure designs are available as well.  These are not as elegant as the strapless versions, but are useful in many more different situations.  A simple web search will turn up hundreds, if not thousands of these styles.
